Pavel Chukhraj

Film director, scriptwriter.
Born October 14, 1946 in the Moscow Region. In 1969 he graduated from VGIK, cinematography department, workshop of Boris Volchek. In 1974 he graduated from the Directing Department of VGIK, workshop of Igor Talankin. His film “The Thief” got three prizes at the Venice International Film Festival in 1997, 5 NIKA awards and was nominated for Oscar. He is an author of the documentary “Children from Abyss” for the Steven Spielberg international project on Holocaust. Mr. Chukhraj is a winner of the Lenin Komsomol Award, of the Prize of the Federation of the Jewish Communities of Russia. Winner of several national and international film forums.
